Giants
win over the Raiders 34-10
"The
Giants looked like a real football team for a change. They were making plays on
both sides of the ball. They didn't get off to a great start at first, but as
the game moved on so did their scoring. It was great seeing Bobby Okereke come
up with an interception, and three plays later Devin Singletary had a big 29-yard
run. Singletary was just short of the goal line, and when they gave him the ball
again he ran it in for a touchdown. The Giants kept at it, and their
7-0 lead turned into 7-3, 14-3, and then 17-3 at the end of the half. It was
great to see them playing such a strong game. The Giants let the Raiders score
an easy touchdown in the third quarter, but that was it for them. Meanwhile the
Giants added a field goal and two touchdowns. One of them was when Deonte Banks
returned a kickoff all the way down the field for his touchdown. The final score
was 34-10, and I hope the Giants can play this well next week at home against
the Cowboys in the final game of the season."
"The
Las Vegas Raiders put up a good fight against the Houston Texans last week, but
not so much this time out against the Giants. Geno Smith was playing without his
top receiver tight end Brock Bowers, but he was still completing passes, and hit
on 12 of 15 by the halftime mark. Bobby Okereke killed one of his biggest drives,
when he intercepted Smith working in the Giants redzone area. The defense
also had success keeping top running back Ashton Jeanty in check, and he had gained
only 16 yards on his 7 carries up to that point. With the defense doing their
job and the offense clicking, the Giants had a 17-3 halftime lead. Jaxson Dart
had a 12-yard touchdown run, and Devin Singletary had run for another. Dart
looked much better than last week, and showed he can be the real deal. He finished
the game completing 22 of his 30 passes for 207 yards, and though there were no
touchdown passes, he was careful with the ball, and there were no turnovers. Dart
was running with the ball this week, and his total 9 carries resulted in 48 yards,
and included another touchdown in the fourth quarter. In the second half, the
defense allowed just one touchdown, and the Raiders had to work for it. Their
14 play drive had to overcome two fourth down conversions, followed by a fourth
down touchdown pass. Banks immediately made up for that with his 95-yard kickoff
return, giving the Giants a 27-10 lead at the end of the third quarter. Smith
was sacked on the second play of his next drive, and later intercepted by Dane
Belton. Darts next 15 play drive, that ended with his touchdown run, took almost
nine minutes off the fourth quarter clock. There was no way the Raiders were going
to come back with less than four minutes left to play."
